A. Campbell died Tuesday morning at 4:30 o'clock at his late residence in Sugar Loaf township after an illness of non weeks from heart disease. The funeral service was conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. Lloyd Barnes from Bethel Baptist church, of which the deceased had been a member since early life. Interment was in the Bethel cemetery. Noah Alfred Campbell, a son of [Squire] Bentley Campbell and Mrs. Bashie Queen Campbell [nee Vashti Cas Queen] was born September 16, 1844, and would have been 88 years of age had he lived until his next birthday anniversary. He was married in 1869 to Miss Elizabeth Cambell, of Alexander county [sic]. Surviving relatives are his widow, three sons Messrs. Winslow Campbell, Elzie Campbell, and I. C. [Illa Cornelius] Campbell, one daughter, Mrs. Stevens Baity, all of this county; two brothers, Messrs. Joseph Campbell and Garner Campbell, of this county; one sister, Miss Rinda Campbell, of Wilkes county; twenty-four grandchildren and fourty-four great grandchildren.
