 DEAL FUNERAL
  RITES SUNDAY

Taylorsville- Charley Deams Deal, 81, Route Three, Taylorsville, died early 
this morning at Shady Rest Home in Taylorsville, following an ilness of 
Several years.
 Born June 29, 1881, In Alexander County, he was a son of the late Mr. and 
Mrs. Calvin Deal.
 Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in 
Alexander County, with the Rev. Mr. Myers officiating, Burial will be in the 
church cemetery.
 The body will remain at Adams Funeral Home, and will lie in state until after 
the funeral service.
 Surviving are his wife, Mary Stamey Deal of the home; five sons, Frank, 
Wilson, Sam, Ray, and Henley Deal all of Taylorsville; four daughters, Mrs. 
Herman Bentley, Mrs. Howard Deal, Mrs. Millard Harrington, and Mrs. Everette 
Wike, all of Taylorsville: 25 Grandchildren and 16 Great- Grandchildren; a 
stepson, Jay Jolly, Caldwell County; and stepgrandaughter.
 Mr. Deal was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and he was a retired farmer

His first Wife Lula Queen Wike Deal died in 1949
His Daughter Mary Amanda Idella Deal Wike died in 1939
