Taylorsville Times  August 3, 2004
Lottie Arlene Payne Elder, age 62, of 1st Ave,  Drive, Se., Taylorsville,died 
unepectedly Friday, july 30, 2004, at Frye Regional Medical Center - Alexander 
Campus in Taylorsville, NC. She was born in Alexander county, May 6, 1942, the 
daughter of the late Glenn Payne and Emma Pennell Payne. She was a homemaker 
and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in 
death by  one brother, Lewis Payne.Survivors include her husband, Gerald Elder 
of the home; two sons Aaron Elder of Taylorsville and Phil Payne and his wife 
Kelly of Hiddenite; three sisters, Glenda Payne Marlowe of Statesville; Rosa 
Payne Jenkins of Taylorsville, and Estelle Payne Brackett of Salisbury, NC; 
two brothers,Herman "Dock" Payne of Taylorsville, and Escar Payne of Jarrell, 
texas; four grandchildren, Whitney, Kaylea,Kristopher, and Peyton Payne. 
Funeral services were conducted at Adams Funeral Chapelin Taylorsville with 
burial followed in the Taylorsville City Cemetery.
