On October 12, 1893, she was born in the Mineral Springs area of Alexander County to Queen Pool of Alexander County, and Jim Williams of Wilkes County. Later Queen Pool married Mr. Charlie Bostain. Mrs. Flowers was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie John Flowers; her parents; maternal grandparents, Norman Pool and Rachael Bennett Pool; paternal grandfather Mr. Nelson Williams; sister Mrs. May Luadia Boston Jolly; two brothers, Benjamin Harrison Pool and Ray Boston; one son, Reverend Harrison Leroy Flowers. She leaves to cherish her memory sisters. Mrs Minnie Flowers and husband Lee of Conover, Bertha Morrison and husband Jack of Durham North Carolina, brothers Lloyd Pool and wife Evelyn, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Arthur Boston of Taylorsville, daughters Mabel Lowe, Cora Bell Flowers, Margie Lackey, Thelma Lackey (John); sons Eubert Flowers (Della), Rayford Flowers (Mae); Dewey Flowers (Lillian), one daughter-in-law, Mazo Flowers, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grand children, and one special friend Mrs. Allie Russell of Gravel Hill. Funeral Services were held at Pleasant Home FBH Church where she served on the mother’s board, and home missions. She would often pick wild flowers and create beautiful bouquets for the sanctuary every week. Mrs. Flowers was also in charge of Decoration Day at the Pleasant Home cemetery. She had a strong faith in God and family. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
