She was born February 1, 1944, in Kellysville, West Virginia, daughter of Rev. Allen F. Smith and Faye Whitlow Smith of Lake Wales, Florida. She was a member of Taylorsville Presbyterian Church. Throughout her professional life, she worked as a secretary for the District Attorney’s office in Orlando, Florida, at Alexvale Furniture in Taylorsville, and Alexander County Department of Social Services before retiring. She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Bertha Herndon, and her sister, Donette Neinaber. Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband of forty-six years, Francis “Frank” Paul Herndon of the home; a daughter, Sherri Lynn Troup and husband John “Guppy” Troup of Taylorsville; a son, Bryan Allen Herndon and wife Cindy Herndon of Taylorsville; four grandsons, Kyle Paul Marshall Troup, Tyler Douglas Troup, Justin Perry, and Cameron Perry, all of Taylorsville; a sister, Calida Crawford of Dundee, Florida; three brothers-in-law, William Herndon and wife Evelyn Herndon of Valdosta, Georgia, Edmond Herndon of Michigan, and Pete Neinaber of Slidell, Louisiana. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Taylorsville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Sink officiating. Inturnment will follow in the church memorial garden. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Taylorsville Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, P. O.
