The Landmark, Statesville, NC
Miss Lena Payne, 20 years of age, died at the 
home of her mother, Mrs Polly Payne, on Highland
Avenue., Friday Morning at 9 o'clock, following an 
illness of three weeks with heart trouble.
The funeral was conducted from the residence
Saturday at 1 o'clock by Rev. J.A. Peeler, and
internment was at the town cemetery. In addition
to her mother, Miss Payne is survived by her 
sister, Miss Mary Payne , and two brothers, 
Messrs.Clyde and Paul Payne. Her father the 
late Mr. Julius Pinkney Payne died about 18 
years ago.
