Statesville Record and Landmark Newspaper
Hiddenite - Burrell Vance Payne, 74 of route 2, Hiddenite, NC died and 7:25 am 
Wednesday at Davis Hospital in Statesville, NC. He was born in Alexander Co., 
Jan 23, 1906. a son of the late Charles and Lettie Burgess Payne. Surviving 
are his wife,the former Maggie Lou Lambert; two daughters,Mrs J.C. Waugh of 
Statesville, and Mrs Phil Mayberry of Taylorsville, NC; two sons Roger Lynn 
Payne of Taylorsville and Oren Payne of Newton, NC; two brothers,Bliss Payne 
of Hiddenite, NC and Joy F. Payne of Manning, SC; three sisters;Mrs Blake 
Miller of Taylorsville, Mrs Bill Pritchard of Siler City and Mrs Arthur Price 
of Kannapolis;and five grandchildren.Funeral and internment will be at Liberty 
Methodist Church in Alexander County, NC
