The Landmark of Statesville, NC
Miss Mary Payne,age 26, died at her home on Highland Ave Friday eveningat 7:30 
pm following a lingering illness with tuberculosis. The funeral service was 
conductedfrom the residence Saturday afternoon at 3 pm. Internment was at the 
Statesville Cemetery. Miss Payne was the daughter of the late Pinkney Payn and 
Polly Mullis Payne. She is survived by two brothers, Clyde and Paul Payne of 
this place.
