Miss Isabella L. Payne, first cousin of Mrs. John C. Thomas, and who lived 
with Mr. and Mrs Thomas, went to visit Mrs Jeff Sloop yesterday morning. After 
arriving there she became paralyzed and died last night. Mr. Thomas bought a 
coffin and brought her remains to his home in this place this morning. She 
lacked only a few days of being 37 years of age. Three brothers, Messrs, 
Nesbit,Julius, and N.P. Payne and two sisters, Mrs Mary Payne Warren and Miss 
Rosa Payne, survive her. She was the daughter of the late John Payne of 
Alexander County. The interment will be at Liberty Church of Alexander County 
tomorrow.
