Ethel Lamberth Payne, 81, of Stikeleather Rd., Hiddenite,NC, died Monday, 
September 11, 2006, at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville, NC following an 
extended illness.
She was born in Iredell County, December 111, 1923, the daughter of the late 
James P. Lamberth and Nora Bennett Lanberth. She was a retired farmer and also 
babysat children in her home. Mrs. Payne was a member if Mt. Nebo Babtist 
Church. She was preceded iin death by her husband,W. Dwight Payne;four 
brothers, Otha and Kinley Lamberth,Bryant and Eugene Benfield, and three 
sisters Marie Lamberth Mills, Vera Lamberth Robinson, and Ruth Lamberth 
Smithy. Mrs. Payne is survived by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral 
services will be conducted Thursday, september 14, 2006 at Mt.  Nebo Babtist 
Church with Rev. Brian Eades officiating. Burial will follow in Iredell 
Memorial Gardens, Statesville, NC
