Ranson Vance Payne, 60, route 3, Taylorsville, NC died at 11:30 pm, Thursday 
at Alexander County Hospital in Tayllorsville following an illness of one 
week. A native opf Alexander Co, he was born Aug 19, 1895, son of the late 
Carter and Nancy Willet Payne. He married the former Pearl Warren. Surviving 
are his wife;two sons Roger and Christy Payne of the home; three 
daughters,Mrs. Shuford Deal, Mrs. Vance Little of Jacksonville, Fla, and Miss 
Julie Payne of the home; three brothers;Tarrie, John, and Carl Payne; two 
sisters Mrs. R.H. Warren and Mrs. M. P. Icenhour and three grandchildre. 
Funeral will be held at Liberty Methodist Church at 2:30 pm Saturday.
