ALEXANDER COUNTY, NC - VITALS - Gillum C. Meadows to Mary E. Baker

Alexander County                            December 25, 1880
 
To any Ordained Minister of any Religious Denomination or any Justice
of the Peace of said County:
 
H.F. Russell having applied to me for a License for the Marriage of
G.C. Meadows of Alexander County aged 32 years, color white, the
son of Daniel Meadows and Rhoda Meadows the father now dead,
the mother living resident of Alexander County, N C and Mary E. Baker
of Alexander Co. NC  aged 26 years, color white, daughter of John T. Baker
and Annie Baker the father living the mother living resident of Alexander
County.
 
And there being no legal impediment to such marriage known to me, you
are hereby authorized, at any time within this one year from the date hereof, 
to celebrate the proposed marriage at any place within the said county
 
You are required within two months after you shall have celebrated such 
marriage to return this License, and with the blanks therein filled according 
to the facts under penalty of forefeiting two hundred dollars to the use of any
person who shall sue for the same.

I, D.M. Baker , a Justice of the Peace for said county united in matrimony
G.C. Meadows  and Mary E. Baker the parties licensed above, on the 25th
day of December, 1880 at John T. Bakers house, in Sugar Loaf Township,
in said County, according to law.
