The Standard of Raleigh, Nov. 19, 1862
   DIED, at his residence in Alleghany County, on the 8th instant, ALLEN 
GENTRY, ESQ., aged about 55 years. The deceased had represented Ashe County in 
the Legislature and was among the most useful and respected citizens of 
Alleghany. His death creates a void in that County which it will be difficult 
to fill.
