COLSON, Adm'r of LEMUEL K. MARTIN vs. HEZEKIAH HOUGH and wife et al. Petition for Sale of Slaves In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that EDMUND D. MARTIN and JAMES H. MARTIN are not residents of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the North Carolina Argus, a newspaper published at Wadesboro, notifying said non residents to be and appear at our next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Anson at the Court House in Wadesboro, on the 2nd Monday of January next. Then and there to plead, answer of demur to this petition filed. Otherwise judgment will be taken pro confesso and the matter will be heard ex parte as to them. Witness P. J.
