Irs. Laid off her dower of the Lands on both sides of Lane's Creek Beginning at a stake by 3 pines and a Spanish oak on the North side of Lane's Creek and runs S 4 Wt. 182 poles crossing the creek to a stake by 2 white oaks & a post oak then S. 45 Wt. 112 poles to a pine in TAYLOR'S line then with his line N. 16 Wt. 38 poles to his corner black oak then N 45 Wt. 44 poles then N. 55 Wt. 68 poles going through the cleard land to a stake on the North side of said creek then Nth. 50 Wt. 130 poles to WILLIAM MARSH'S line then with his line N $ E 100 poles then to the beginning containing 187 acres which is 1/3 of the Tract adjoining on both sides of Lane's Creek. Also 83 1/2 acres on both sides of Big Brown Creek beginning on the bank of sd. creek the beginning of a 200 acre tract and runs N.33 Wt. 30 poles to a stake by a forked pine & post oak S 57 Wt. 65 poles to a stake by a post oak pine and elm then S. 33 E. 42 poles to a stake by 2 Hiccorys (sic) then S. 57 Wt. 114 poles to a stake in the 2nd line of the sd. 200 acre tract then with Sd.line S. 33 Et. 74 poles to the Corner of said Tract then with a line of said tract N. 57 Et. 179 poles to the other corner then to the beginning it being 1/3 part of all the lands on Brown Creek. Also 33 1/2 acres on the North side of Lane's Creek laid off out of the 100 acres. Beginning at a post oak a corner of sd. 100 acres and runs N 45 Wt. 66 poles to a pine then N. 7 E. 60 poles to a stake then N. 44 Et. 100 poles to the 2nd line of said Tract then with said line 84 Et. 210 poles to a corner THEN S. 44 Wt. 60 poles to a corner thence S. 12 Et. 40 poles to a corner then S45 Wt. 20 poles to a corner then S 7 Wt. 52 poles to a stake then to the beginning it being her third part of the sd. 100 acres. I Certify the above to be a true plan and courses of her part of the lands which the said EBENEZER MARSH died seized or possessed of as far as we had any account of & Laid off the 2nd day of November 1812. HAMMOND, Surveyor NORTH CAROLINA ANSON COUNTY In pursuance of an order of the Worshipful Court at October Sessions 1812 I WILLIAM HAMMON Deputy sheriff with the under signed Jury by me lawfully summoned and sworn to lay off and allot to ELIZABETH ELLIOTT late widow of EBENEZER MARSH dec'd her dower of the said real estate of her sd. Dec'd husband, have laid off and allotted to the said ELIZABETH ELLIOT one hundred and eighty seven acres on both sides of Lane's Creek including the dwelling house of the dec'd being one third part of the tract whereon the dec'd. lately lived also thirty three acres and one third of wood land on the west side of Lane's Creek being one third of a tract of one hundred acres and also eighty three and 1/3 on both sides of Great Brown Creek being one third part of the tract of Land whereon JAMES PURKENS now lives making in the whole Three Hundred and three acres and Two Thirds and hath such courses distances natural and official boundaries as is represented by the surveyors plat hereunto annexed Etc.
