STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions   Anson County
October Term, 1848

WHITE and LILLY
     vs.
JAMES J. GATHINGS

General Attachment, Garnishee Summoned

In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the 
defendant, JAMES J. GATHINGS, resides beyond the limits of this State: It is 
therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive 
weeks in the North Carolina "Argus," published at Wadesborough, N. C., 
notifying said defendant to be and appear at our next Court of Pleas & Quarter 
Sessions to be held at the Court House at Wadesborough on the second Monday in 
January next. Then and there to plead, answer or demur to this petition filed. 
Otherwise, judgment will be taken pro confesso and hear ex parte as to him.
Witness N. D. BOGGAN, Clerk of said Court at office on the second Monday of 
October, A. D. 1848, in the 73rd year of American Independence.
