COTTINGHAM and Samuel M. PRATT of the County & State aforesaid enter the following land in Anson County. And Being part of the bed of the Pee Dee River, Beginning on the Anson Bunk at a Birch, the corner between the BUCHANAN land and the COTTINGHAM land and runs thence a direct course to the thread of the River between ANSON & Richmond Counties, thence with the said threat of the River, down the River to a point opposite the corner of the CLARK land on the Bank of the River on the Anson side, thence to the Bank, thence along the Bank of the River 88 chs. & 13 lks. To the Beginning it being the entire River front of the COTTINGHAM land to the thread of the stream- It is not far from the ten mile branch-The canal, which was dug many years ago, runs tho the COTTINGHAM land about fifty or one hundred yards from this entry - The BUCHANAN lands are west to it up the River.
