PURDIE RICHARDSON, ESQ., Executor of ALEX. B. SMITH, deceased
                       vs.
EBEN NELMS and wife, MARTHA, WILLEY P. SMITH, _____ CARUTHERS and wife, 
ADALINE, EDMUND A. SMITH, WILLIAM T. SMITH, ELIZABETH T. SMITH, MARY A. SMITH

Petition for Settlement

In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the legatees
EBEN NELMS and wife, MARTHA, WILLEY P. SMITH, _____ CARUTHERS and wife, 
ADALINE, reside beyond the limits of this State, it is therefore ordered by 
the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the North 
Carolina Argus, published at Wadesboro, notifying said defendants, non- 
residents to be and appear at our next Court to be held for the County of 
Anson at the Court House in Wadesboro in October next. Then and there to 
plead, answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise judgment will be 
taken pro confesso and the matter heard ex parte as to them. Witness, P. J. 
COPPEDGE, Clerk of the said Court at office in Wadesboro on the 23rd day of 
August A.D. 1859.
