All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Shank carolynshank@msn.com April 29, 2007, 6:13 pm Written: 1800 THIS INDENTURE made the thirteenth day of February one thousand eight hundred between DAVID BRUMBOE of the State of North Carolina and County of Maclinburgh of the one part and ARCHE CARAWAY of the State aforesaid & County of Anson of the other part WITNESSETH that the said DAVID BRUMLOE for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds in hand paid by the said ARCHE CARAWAY before the ensealing & delivery hereof the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself fully Satisfied contented & paid hath given granted bargained & sold & confirmed unto the said ARCHE CARAWAY before the ensealing & delivery hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself fully Satisfied contented & paid hath given granted bargained & sold & confirmed unto the said ARCHE CARAWAY five Tracts or parcels or paroles of Land Containing Two hundred and thirty eight acres of Land according to the hreafter dementions (Towel) one hundred and fifty acres lying in the State aforesaid & County of Anson Beginning at a red oak on the East side of the Meadow Branch & runs So. 65 West 126 poles up Crossing said branch to a red oak then So. 15 East 185 poles up Crossing the Spring branch to a stake in the Center of three pines & one white oak then No. 65 East 130 poles Crossing said branch to a pine then No. 14 West 185 poles down to the beginning. Also a tract or parcel of land adjoining Containing twenty five acres of land in the County & State aforesaid Beginning at a Lightwood state in his old line with a post oak & two pointers and runs So. 34 East 6 Chains & 50 Links to a stake in CHARITY FINNY'S line thence with said line No. 56 East 6 Chains & 50 Links to a stake in red oaks pointers thence So. 34 East 10 Chains to a stake thence No. 74 East 10 Chains to a stake among 3 red oaks thence No. 20 Chains to a hicory then Direct to the Beginning. Also another Tract or parcel of Land Containing twenty five acres of land adjoining the other in the County and State aforesaid Beginning at a stake and four small post oaks pointers South side of PRICE'S Spring branch and runs No. twenty West Ninety four poles Crossing said branch to a stake then So. 25 West 45 poles to the Beginning. Also another tract or parcel of land Containing twenty acres lying in the County & State aforesaid Beginning at a post oak & two post oak pointers and runs So. 9 West 14 Chains & 25 links to a stake with two post oak pointers and runs So. 9 West 14 Chains and twenty five to links to a stake thence to the Beginning all the above mentioned patented by DAVID BRUMBLOE. Also another Tract or parcel of Land containing by Estimation Eighteen acres more or Less adjoining the above lying and being in the County and State aforesaid being a parcel the4 said BRUMLOE purchased of CHARITY FINNY at Rattle Snake branch where MRS. FINNY'S lines crosses said branch taking her line down to the corner Crossing the Meadow branch thence taking the South line to a ....(a line not printed) Improvements, profits, privileges and advantages thereon or in anywise appertaining the same belonging the Two Last mentioned tracts being all the land the said WM. TAYLOR purchased for ZACHEUS COLLENS TO HAVE AND TO HOLD unto him the said ARCHE CARAWAY his heirs and assigns forever and the said WM. TAYLOR purchased from ZACHEUS COLLENS TO HAVE AND TO HOLD unto the said ARCHE CARAWAY his heirs and assigns forever to warrant and forever Defend all the profits and advantages of the same belonging unto the said ARCHE CARAWAY his heirs, Excrs. Admrs. or assigns forever against the claim or claims of any manner person or persons whatsoever In Witness wereof I the said William Taylor hath hereunto set my hand & Seal the day and year first above written.
