NOTE: This deed is handwritten and  it extremely difficult to read. 
 
This Indenture made this 27th day of March in the year of our Lord A.D. 1843 
between DAVIS COLLINS & ALLEN HELMES both of the County of Anson and State of 
North Carolina witnesseth that I said DAVIS COLLINS for and in consideration 
of the sum of Three hundred & Sixty Six Dollars in hand paid by the said ALLEN 
HELMES before the sealing of these I presents hath bargained sold and 
delivered unto the said ALLEN HELMES and his heirs & assigns a certain tract 
or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Union & State aforesaid on 
Ray's Fork. Beginning at a pine by three red oaks supposed to be ASA HELMES 
corner on the East side of Ray's fork and runs with said HELMES line West to 
the said Creek on a Stake thence up the various courses of said Creek up to an 
Ash a simmon tree & hickory pointers. Then crossing said Creek & runs agreed 
line supposed to be South West course to a bunch of white oaks in the edge of 
the old field, thence West to a post oak thence south West to a Sweet gum in 
said Creek, thence East to a branch in Creek. thence East to a bunch of 
Dogwoods with a B. Jack & hickory pointers then South West to a post oak. 
Thence east one hundred and forty five poles to a stake. then North one 
hundred & Eighty four poles to the beginning corner. containing two hundred 
acres be the same more or less to him the said ALLEN HELMES his heirs and 
assigns to have & to hold the said land & premises together with every other 
property accruing therefrom without any manner interruption or demands from 
the said DAVIS COLLINS or his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons 
do warrant & forever defend the feasible possession aforesaid land as above 
mentioned.
