Written: 1805

THIS INDENTURE made this 9th day of November in the year of 1805 Between JOHN 
ELLIOTT of the State of North Carolina & County of Anson of the one part & 
WILLIAM ASHCRAFT of the County & State aforesd. of the other part. WITNESSETH 
that the sd. JOHN ELLIOTT for & in consideration of the sum One hundred & 
eighty Dollars to him the Sd. JOHN ELLIOTT doth hereby acknowledge himself 
fully satisfied & contented hath given granted sold aliened & confirmed & by 
these presents for himself & his heirs doth give grant sell alien & confirm 
unto the Sd. WILLIAM ASHCRAFT unto his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract 
of Land Containing Ninety three acres more or Less lying and being in the 
above Sd. State & County of Ansonon both sides of Lanes Creek Beginning at a 
Red oak & runs Et. 95 poles to the lower Leek Branch then with Sd. Branch to 
TRULL'S line thence with TRULL'S line to his corner thence with Sd. Line to 
the Lower Corner then with Sd. Line to THOMAS ASHCRAFT's line thence with his 
line to his corner thence WT. 65 poles to a Stake thence So. 203 poles to the 
Beginning Including Ninety three acres more or less to have & to hold use 
occupy & enjoy the same and every part or parcel thereof to the only proper 
use and Behalf of the sd. WILLIAM ASHCRAFT & to his heirs & assigns forever 
together with houses orchards gardens fences woods & underwoods waters & water 
course to the same Belonging or in anyways appertaining with all & Every 
reversion & reversions Remainder & Remainders & the sd. JOHN ELLIOTT for 
himself & his heirs doth Covenant promise & agree to & with the Sd. WILLIAM 
ASHCRAFT that he the Sd. JOHN ELLIOTT is and stands before this ensealing & 
Delivery of these presents the true and lawful owner of the above sold lands 
premises free from all former or present Gifts sales mortgages entails Extents 
Executions Dowrys Jointures Lets hindrances or other Incumbrances whatsoever & 
being so Rightfully & Lawfully seized in fee the same with every part & parcel 
thereof the Sd. JOHN ELLIOTT doth warrant & forever Defend to the Sd. WILLIAM 
ASHCRAFT his heirs & assigns forever against any Lawful title Claim or Demand 
as can or may be now or hereafter Laid to the same or any part or parcel 
thereof By any person or persons whatsoever In Witness whereof the Sd. JOHN 
ELLIOTT hath hereunto Set his hand & Seal the Day and year above written.
