Written: 1822

To all to whom these presents shall come Know ye that I JOHN ELLIOTT of Anson 
County and State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of 
Seventy dollars to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these 
presents hath bargained and sold unto REDDEN SIMMS of the same County and 
State a certain dower laid of to ELIZABETH MARSH situate lying and being in 
the County and State aforesd. and on Lanes Creek the dower containing one 
hundred and forty acres and I the said JOHN ELLIOTT do warrant and defend the 
above bargained dower with the will and all things thereunto belonging unto 
the said REDDING SIMMS him and his heirs forever. In witness whereof I the 
said JOHN ELLIOTT doth set my hand and seal this 4th day of Feby. 1822.
