WITNESSETH that I the said JOHN ELLIOTT for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & thirty dollars to me in hand paid by the said WILLIAM ELLIOTT the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and conveyed unto the said WILLIAM ELLIOTT a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Anson and State of North Carolina on both sides of Wickers Branch beginning at a post oak in FRANCES BAKER'S old line and running So. 55 Wt. 30 chains and 75 links to a pine then Wt. 65 Wt. 13 chains to a white oak then No. 20 E. 19 chains to a black oak by 2 hickories then No. 45 Wt. 17 chains to Wickers Branch then down the various courses of sd. Branch to the mouth of the Long Branch then up said Branch to an ash corner then East until it strikes the line of a Grant which this land is a part then with Sd. line So. to the corner stake by 2 post oaks then with the other line to the Beginning containing one hundred acres be the same more or less it being part of a tract of land Granted to WILLIAM SHEPPARD and sold by hit to the said JOHN ELLIOTT SEN. To have and to hold the said land and premises with all woods ways waters hereditaments and appurtenances there unto belonging unto the said WILLIAM ELLIOTT his heirs & assigns forever and I the JOHN ELLIOTT do bind myself my heirs. Exc. and adms. to warrant and forever defend the said land and premises unto the said WILLIAM ELLIOTT his heirs and assigns free and clear from the legal claim or title of any person or persons whatsoever.
