ANSON COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - Estate of William Thomas, Edward King Administrator Sale of Eight Slaves to John King, 18 Apr 1823 ----¤¤¤¤---- State of North Carolina, know all men by these present that I Edward King at present of the groto Anson County North Carolina and Anson County for and in consideration of the sums of John King of the state and County____ and being joint security with me for Alex King to the estste of William Thomas (dece.) for twenty seven hundread dollars or there about having bargained, sold and by these present do bargin and sell_____ _____ said John King eight Negros Molock, Trip, Beth, Flossie, and her son Serdrow, Liddy & her two children Margaret & Cherry to have and to hold the said bargained Negros unto the said John King his eires____ forever I the said Edward for myself my eires _____ and ____ and will forever defend against all persons whatever, be said bargained Negros unto the said John King his eires____ forward____ ____ if the Alexander King should ____pay this abovedeth with all lawful interest and cost to the eirs or heires og the estate of William Thomas (dece.)_____ this Bill of Sale_____Deed of ______to be_____effect to remain in full forever and ____ & it is ____ understood by the parties that the said Edward King shall keep _____of the said Edwards Negros. I ____impower and authorize this ____John King____days or time he may think proper to sell all or as many of the said Negros as ___ _____ ______ in all _____which he may ____ from the payment of the above deth.
