GRANT ENTERED/ORDERED TO BE SURVEYED

State of North Carolina          No 340
Entry offices of James Love and David Love in the County of Anson to the 
Surveyer of the said County.  Greeting You are herby required as Soon as 
May Be to Lay off & Survey for William Nash a tract or parcel of Land 
containing fifty acres Lying in the County afforsaid lying on Lanes Creek 
above Capt Lacys(?) Joining his uper Line & Chevers [Chavis?] line including 
his improvement.

Observing the Directions of the Act of Assembly in Such Case Maid & Provided 
for runing out Lands two Just & fair Plans of Such having annexed to Each 
you are to transmit With this Warrant to the [Secretary's?] office Without 
Delay given Under My Hand at My office the 5 Day of Agust Anno Dom 1778[?]

GRANT SURVEYED

[At the top is a drawing somewhat in the shape of a shield with a flat top 
rounding to a point at the bottom.  At the top are letters and numbers that 
I can't make out.  Inside the drawing is Wm. Nash  50 acres.  Around the 
outside of the drawing is ___ ___ ___ Corner of Lanes Creek.  SN--There are 
several loops in Lanes Creek that could be the one shown in the survey.]

Laid down per scale[?] of 20 Chains in An Inch[?]

This Plott Refers unto fifty Acres Land in Anson County Lying in a bent of 
Lanes Creek on the North side of Sd. Creek Beginning at Black Walnut Tree 
standing On the Bank of said Creek and Turning(?) North forty five Degrees 
East seventeen Chains and fifty Links to white oak standing On the Bank of 
said Creek thence[?] Up[?] the Various Courses of said Creek to the Beginning.  
Surveyed for Wm. Nash the 15th Day of Janry 1780----

To all To whom these presents shall come greeting Know ye that we for and in 
Consideration of the sum of Fifty shillings for Every hundred acres hereby 
granted paid into our Treasury by William Nash have given & granted and by 
these presents do give and grant unto the said William Nash a Tract of Land 
Containing Fifty acres Lying and being in our County of Anson, Lying in a bent 
of said Creek on the North side of said creek Beginning at a Walnut Tree 
standing on the Bank of said creek and Runs No. 45 Degrees Et. 17 chains & 50 
links to a white oak standing on the Bank of sd Creek then up the various 
Courses of said Creek to the Beginning ----  At Hillsborough the Fourteenth 
Day of October In the Eighth year of our Independence and in the year of our 
Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty Three
