STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
      To all to whom these present Shall Come Greeting
      Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Shillings 
for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our Treasury by ROBERT ELLET 
have given and granted and by these present do give and grant unto the said 
ROBERT ELLET a tract of land containing one hundred and fifty acres lying and 
being in the County of Anson on the waters of Lanes Creek Beginning (sic) at 
JOHN ELLETS corner state among three pines and runs with his line East fifteen 
chains to a stake among three pines thence North fourteen chains to a red oak 
thence North fifty one East twenty one chains to a pine thence North thirty 
chains to a stake among three post oaks thence South eighty West forty chains 
to a stake thence  South Ten East fifty one chains to the Beginning. Entered 
the 19th day of April 1790.
 
At Raleigh the ninth day of March in the XX3rd. year of our Independence and 
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Ninety Nine.
