STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. Know ye that we for and in consideration of the sum 
of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted paid into our 
Treasury by THOMAS ROGERS have given and granted and by these presents do give 
and grant unto the said THOMAS RODGERS a tract of land containing two hundred 
acres lying and being in the County of Anson on Flag Branch beginning on a 
stake on his own line and runs East twenty chains to his own corner a hickory 
then with his line North 10 chains to a Post Oak in JOHN WATSON'S line then 
with his line East twenty seven chains to a post oak SARAH RODGER'S corner 
then with her line South Fifteen East forty five chains to a stake in her line 
thence West fifty five chains to a stake by a black jack in DANIEL ROSS'S line 
to the Beginning Entered the 16th day of April 1817 at Raleigh the 13th day of 
December in the 41st year of our independence and in the year of our Lord 1817.
