	PHILEMON THOMAS, 150 acres, No. 206.
	State of North Carolina
	“To all whom these presents come greeting; know ye that for and in 
consideration of the sum of thirty shillings for every hundred acres hereby 
granted paid into the treasury by PHILEMON THOMAS hath given granted and by 
these presents do give and grant unto the said PHILEMON THOMAS, a tract of land 
containing 150 acres, lying and being in our County of Richmond, bejoining at a 
red oak sapling standing on the south side of a branch of Cartledge Creek, 
Harrington’s corner, one red oak pointer and runs as his line south 160 poles 
to a stake in the edge of Crawford’s Road one pole, and two black jacks, then 
south 25 degrees East 157 poles to a corner, then south 160 poles to THOMAS’s 
old line, then as his line North 75 degrees West 157 poles to the beginning.”

	“As by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods, 
waters, mines, minerals, hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land, 
belonging or appertaining to hold to the said PHILEMON THOMAS, his heirs and 
assignees, etc.”
Witness Richard Dobbs Spaight, esq, our Governor, Captain General and Commander-
in-Chief at Newbern the 17th day of December in the 19th year of our 
Independence, and in the year of our Lord, 1794.”
