Be it Known that ROBERT PEARSON of this County of Anson & State of North 
Carolina for & in consideration of the sum of Four Thousand Pounds to me in 
hand paid by ROBERT ELLIOTT & ISAAC COURSE the receipt & payment whereof I 
hereby acknowledge do by these presents Bargain Sell convey and Deliver to the 
aforesaid. ROBERT ELLIOTT & ISAAC COURSE & their heirs the following Lands & 
Tenements and personal property (to wit) Thirty Lotts in the Town of 
Sneydesborough (sic) in the aforesd. County of Anson, Two hundred acres in the 
same County about one mile from Sneydesborough Joining the Lands of FRANCIS 
PERSONS & others, Eight acres & one half whereon I now have a warehouse & 
cotton machine, also 3 negroes John, Joe, & Jenny three horses, four mules 16 
head of Cattle 20 hogs 2 beds & Furniture one Riding chair 1 Cart and all my 
household and Kitchen Furniture and Farming tools To have and to Hold to them 
the sd. ROBERT ELLIOTT & ISAAC COURSE their heirs Exrs. & Admrs. and I hereby 
promise covenant & grant for myself and my heirs that I will warrant and 
forever defend the aforesd. Goods & Chattels lands & Tenements to the 
aforesid. ROBT. ELLIOTT & ISAAC COURSE their heirs Exrs. and Admrs. against 
all Lawfull claims of any nature or Kind whatsoever to the sd. ROBT. ELLIOTT & 
ISAAC COURSE their heirs Exrs. and Admrs. forever.
     Provided nevertheless that I HUBERT PEARSON or my heirs Exrs. Admrs. or 
assigns shall pay or cause to  be paid to ROBT. ELLIOTT the sum of Three 
Thousand one hundred and Thirty one pounds five shillings with Interest at the 
rate of 7 per cent from the 15th day of July Anno Domini 1804 being the amount 
of a Judgment Recovered by the sd. ROBERT against me in Anson County Court, 
and also that I will pay or cause to be paid to ISAAC COURSE the sum of Four 
hundred and Seventy pounds 6/2 with interest at the rate of 6 Pr. cent from 
the 16th July 1804 till paid being Amount of a Judgment Recovered against me 
in the Same Court & at the same term by JAMES BURGESS assignee of WILLIAM 
TERRY on or before the second Monday of April ... then the above to be null & 
void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue  _______In Witness whereof I 
have herunto se my hand and seal this 18th day of April Domini 1806.
