THIS INDENTURE made this 6th day of July in the year of our Lord 1808 Between 
ELI ROGERS of Anson County & State of North Carolina of the one part and 
SAMPSON ROGERS of the other part WITNESSETH that the Sd. ELI ROGERS for and in 
consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds of good & Lawful money to me in 
hand paid by Sd. SAMPSON ROGERS  at or before the sealing & signing of these 
the Recpt. & payment whereof is hereby acknowledged by him the Sd. ELI ROGERS 
for himself & his heirs doth hereby Bargain sell alien Enfeoff and confirm 
unto him the Sd. SAMPSON ROGERS to him & his heirs Exrs. Admrs. & assigns 
forever a certain tract or parcel of Land in the County of Anson & State of 
North Carolina lying and being as follows Beginning at a red oak on Jones's 
Creek between 2 Red oaks & white plumb (sic) trees and a white oak pointer and 
runs No. 9 Et. 155 poles to a stake then No. 81 Wt. 155 poles to a pine then 
So. 9 Wt. 155 poles then So. 81 Et. 155 poles to the Beginning Containing 
Three Hundred Acres more or less Granted to JACOB JONES the 25th day of July 
in the year of our Lord 1774 and then deeded from sd. JONES to THOMAS WRIGHT & 
from THOMAS WRIGHT to RICHARD ODAM with all the Recpt of the ways woods water 
and every other appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining 
to the Sd. Tract of land to the sd. ELI ROGERS his heirs Exrs. and Admrs. hath 
sold set over conveyed Released and confirmed in open market to the sd. 
SAMPSON ROGERS his heirs Exrs. and Assigns & him the Sd. ELI ROGERS for 
himself his heirs Exrs.  & Admrs. doth hereby covenant & promise  to & with 
the sd ELI ROGERS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. shall and will warrant & forever 
defend the Sd. piece of land with all and every of its members and 
appurtenances free from all lawful claim of any person or persons whatsoever 
unto the Sd. SAMPSON ROGERS & his heirs Exrs. Admrs. & assigns forever In 
Witness whereof the Sd. ELI ROGERS hath hereto set his hand and affixed his 
seal the day & year first above written.
