Written: 1808

THIS INDENTURE made this 6th day of July 1808 Between ELI ROGERS of the County 
of Anson & State of North Carolina of the one part and SOLOMON ETHEREDGE of 
the County & State aforesd. of the other part. WITNESSETH the sd. ELI ROGERS 
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred Dollars to him in hand paid 
by the Sd. SOLOMON ETHEREDGE at and before the ensealing and Delivering of 
these presents the Recpt. whereof the sd. ELI ROGERS doth hereby acknowledge 
hath granted Bargained sold aliened set over conveyed and confirmed and by 
these presents doth Grant Bargain sell alien set over convey and confirm unto 
the Sd. SOLOMAN ETHEREDGE one piece or parcel of land lying and being in the 
County & State aforsd. Beginning at a black gum SOLOMON ETHEREDGE 'S old 
corner thence runing (sic) near East to ELI ROGERS back line to a stake then 
No. to a big pine JACOB JONES' corner thence Wt. to a stake SOLOMON 
ETHEREDGES' other corner containing fifty acres more or less To have and to 
hold the Sd. 50 acres with the appurtenances unto the Sd. SOLOMON ETHEREDGE 
his heirs and assigns to the only proper use Benefit and Behoof of the said 
SOLOMON ETHEREDGE his heirs & assigns forever and the Sd. ELI ROGERS for 
himself his heirs Exrs.and Admrs. doth covenant promise and grant to and with 
the Sd. SOLOMON ETHEREDGE his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the 
Sd. ELI ROGERS his heirs the premises hereby granted with the appurtenances 
unto the Sd. SOLOMON ETHEREDGE his heirs and assigns against him the sd. ELI 
ROGERS his heirs, Exrs. admrs. shall and will warrant and forever defend by 
these presents. In witness whereof the sd. ELI ROGERS hath hereunto set his 
hand and seal the day and year first above written.
