Lying and Being in Manner & form following (viz) the first Beginning at a walnut tree on the No. E. Bank of P. D River and at the Red Bluff & then Runs No. 35 E. 195 poles to a red oak then So. 55 E. 112 1/2 poles to a red oak then So. 35 Wt. to the river bank then up the River the various Course thereof to the first station for 150 acres be the same more or less the 2nd Beginning at a red oak on the No. E. side of P D River & Runs No. 35 E. 224 poles to a pine then So. 55 W. 218 poles to a pine then So. 55 E. 64 poles to a pine then So. 55 W. 218 poles to the river Bank then up the various courses to the first station for 100 acres Be it more or less the above 3 tracts of Land that was Granted to JAMES DENSON by his Majesties letter patent dated the 22nd day of Novr. 1746 and since Conveyd by Several Conveyences until it were conveyd to him the said JAMES SHEPPERD (sic) the 4th Being part of a tract of land granted to JOHN ASHLY & by him to JOHN CARTRITE & said CARTRITE to him the sd. SHEPPERD Beginning at a hickory on the No. E. Bank of Pe D. River and Lower corner to the land Granted to DENSON as above and Runs then No. 35 E. 84 poles to JAMES LONGS corner then So.55 E. 68 poles to JORDAN ASHLYS line then with his line So. 25 Wt. 118 poles to a white oak on the river Bank then up the various courses thereof to the first station for one Hundred acres be the same more or less the 5th and last lying and Being on the So. Wt. side of Pee Dee River Beginning at a white oak on the River Bank the Beginning corner to a tract of land Belonging to CORNELIUS ROBINSON and runs then So.45 W. 120 poles to a pine then So. 45 E. 140 poles down the river to a pine then No. 45 E. 120 poles to a red oak on the River Bank then up the various Course to the first Station for one hundred acres be the same more or less Being the same that was granted to HENRY DOWNS by his Magestys (sic) patent dated the 26th day of May 1757 and by said DOWNS conveyd. to him the said JAMES SHEPARD (sic) and the reversion Remainders and Remainders Rents Issues & profits thereof & also the Estate Right title & Interest of him the said JAMES SHEPARD of in or to the same in all deeds Evidences and writings touching and concerning the same to have and to hold the said five tracts of Land for five Hundred & fifty acres be the same More or less hereby granted & sold & all & singular the premises with their and Every of their appurtenances unto the said WILLIAM MASK his heirs and assigns that he the said JAMES SHEPARD his heirs exrs. admrs. & assigns doth covenant and grant to & with the said WILLIAM MASK his heirs and and assigns that he the said JAMES SHEPARD was truly and lawfully possesd. of the said five Hundred & fifty acres of land and all other the premises hereby Bargained & Sold and was truly & lawfully Seized of a good absolute & Indefeasible estate of Inheritance in fee Simple without any manner of Condition trust or limitation whatsoever to alter change charge or Incumber the same and free and Clear and freely and Clearly Exonerated and discharged of and from all other sales Mortgages or incumbrances whatsoever the quitrents accruing to his Magesty only excepted and that the said land and all the appurtenances unto the said WILLIAM MASK his heirs and assigned according to the true intent & Meaning of these presents and the said JAMES SHEPARD his heirs, exrs. , admrs. doth Covenant & grant to and with the said WILLIAM MASK his heirs and assigns that he or either of them Shall and may from time to time and at all times hereafter peacably and quietly have hold Occupy and enjoy the said 550 acres of Land and premises hereby Bargained & Sold unto the said WILLIAM MASK his heirs and assigns without any let Hindrance or Molistation of Him the said JAMES SHEPARD & his heirs the said 550 acres of Land and premises hereby Bargained & Sold unto the said WILLIAM MASK his heirs and assigns against all persons whatsoever shall & will warrant and forever by these presents defend In witness wheof the said JAMES SHEPARD Hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written his his DENNIS NOLLEN JAMES J.
