Written: 1799

THIS INDENTURE made this 21st day of January in this year of our Lord one 
thousand seven hundred and Ninety Nine between WILLIAM SHEPPERD of the one 
part and ISAAC SHEPPERD of the other part Both of the County of Anson & State 
of North Carolina WITNESSETH that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty 
pounds to him in hand paid by the said ISAAC SHEPPERD before the sealing & 
Delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have 
Bargained sold conveyed & confirmed unto the said ISAAC SHEPPERD his heirs and 
assigns forever a tract or parcel of land lying and being on Both sides of 
Lanes Creek Beginning at a red oak near his old line and runs North fifty 
three chains to a white oak then East thirty seven chains & seventy five links 
to a red oak then South fifty three chains crossing the said Creek to a stake 
then West thirty seven chains & seventy five links crossing the said Creek to 
the Beginning containing two hundred acres be they same more or less which 
land together with the appurtenences I warrant and Defend against the claim or 
claims of any person or persons whatsoever as Witness my hand this 21st Day of 
January 1799.
