THIS INDENTURE made this first day of February in the year of our Lord 1804 
between THOMAS STEWART of the County of Anson & State of No. Carolina of the 
one part and ELETT of County and State aforesaid of the other part WITNESSETH, 
that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred silver dollars in hand 
paid to him the said THOMAS STEWART the receipt hereof is hereby acknowledged 
hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain & sell unto 
the said JOHN ELETT a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the State and 
County aforesaid lying on the west side of LANE'S CREEK on the waters of 
Wicker's Branch on the premises where the sd. STEWART lives, beginning at a 
sweet gum by a spring and runs Wt. 36 chains 75 links crossing the Sd. Creek 
to a stake then No. 31 chains seventy links to a stake then east thirty one 
chains & 75 links then 31 chains & seventy and 75 links to the beginning 
containing one hundred acres of land more or less with all remainder or 
remainders of the above mentioned premises with mines & minerals to him the 
said JOHN ELETT his heirs & assigns forever to dispose of according to his 
pleasure and the said THOMAS STEWART do for himself his heirs and assigns 
warrant promise and agree to warrant and defend the above mentioned land and 
premises to the said ELETT and his heirs against all lawful claims or demands 
whatsoever. In witness hereunto I have set my hand and Seal.
