		Deed Kenneth McKenzie from Eli and Nathan Thomas
	“This indenture, made this 8th day of January, 1807, between Eli Thomas 
power of attorney for his brother, Nathan Thomas, of the County of Richmond and 
state of North Carolina of the one part, and Kenneth McKenzie of the county and 
state aforesaid, etc.:”

	“A certain tract of land or parcel of land lying and being in Richmond 
County on the North side of Cartledge’s Creek beginning at a sweet gum on the 
North side of Cartledge’s Creek and running with ?Linson’s line North 15 East 
164 poles to Hurley’s line, then with said line then North 75 West 63 poles to 
a stake and two pines pointing at the head of Little Creek being Hurley’s 
corner, then with Hurley’s line ?Husting line South 15 West 215 poles to a 
stake in the creek, then as the various courses of the creek to the beginning, 
containing 80 acres more or less, together with all…etc.”

Richmond County	“On this 16th day of November 1885, personally appeared before 
me, Z. F. Long, clerk of the Superior Court, J. E. Covington, who being duly 
sworn, says: That the grantor, bargainer or maker of the annexed deed, and the 
witness thereto are dead or cannot be found, and that he cannot proof of their
