Anson Military Company Formed
 -- Pursuant to call, a tolerably large meeting was held in Anson on Friday 
afternoon last, for the purpose of taking means to form a military company. 
After the transaction of the necessary preliminary business, and the 
enrollment of names, the company proceeded to organize by electing: ELI 
FREEMAN, Captain; R. T. HALL, First Lieutenant; BENJAMIN F. SMITH, Second 
Lieutenant; C. E. SMITH, Third Lieutenant; E. F. KENDALL, First Sergeant; B. 
F. MOORE, Second Sergeant; C. E. SMITH, Third Sergeant, B. C. HUTCHINSON, 
Fourth Sergeant and A. C. BENTON, Quartermaster.
