He was enrolled as a private for 18 months in Captain John Donaldson's company under command of Col. William Thomson's South Carolina Regiment. He was on Sullivan's Island when it was under British siege. In June or July of 1781 he served three months in Capt. William Brackin's Company under Col. Malmady's North Carolina Regiment. During this stint he was in the Battle of Eutaw Springs. In Oct. 1781 he spent at least four months in Captain James Fare's Company commanded by Col. Thomas Wade during which he had several skirmishes with the Tories. While living in Anson, where he had resided since the Revolution. RICKETTE applied for and was granted pension on Oct. 16, 1832. He was born in Queen Anne's, Md. in August 1748. No date of death is given, and there is no additional family information.
