Sept. 23, 1883
Millions of army worms have attached the cotton fields of MR. D.L. TALTON of 
Anson County. He turned in upon them all of his turkeys and geese, and 
borrowed all those of his neighbors and turned them in and the worms are 
disappearing while the fowls are getting as fat as can be.
