C. **** The Rockingham Rocket says that on the 17th of April , a colored woman, EMMA SULLIVAN of Anson, was going from home and left her two children in the bed asleep. On her return she found the house in flames and the children were burned to death, while the mother was badly burned in her efforts to save them. Just before leaving the house she had gone to the bed to see that the children were properly covered and it is supposed that she dropped some fire on it from a pipe she was smoking.
