MARTIN, who was confined in the Jail at Rockingham under conviction for the murder of MAY in Anson County, made his escape on the 19th inst. He was found guilty at the September Term of the Superior Court, but appealed to the Supreme Court, which confirmed the judgment, and he would have been condemned at the sitting of the Court last week, but for his eascape. He was guarded by four men, and it is supposed that one of them was bribed who made two of the others drunk, while the third was called away by a tale that his horse was sick, when several persons disguished, with hammer and crowbar, forced off the door and released the prisoner, who with horse provided by his friendes, fled and no accurate account has been heard of him since. We see the Governor has offered a reward of $200 for his apprehension. His description is as follows: Said MARTIN is 22 years of age, dark complexion, black hair, projecting eye balls, thick lips, prominent cheekbones, about five feet high and weights about 175 pounds.
