JAMES PHILLIPS, living about eight miles south of Wadesboro, suddenly died and in a curious manner. He was about six years old and had been playing with a companion about the same age and tumbling about a pile of cotton. LITTLE PHILLIPS hollowed a place for his head, intending to turn a somersault. He turned, and as his little companion expressed, he went so fast asleep he couldn't wake him. He had dislocated his neck. Oh, how careful parents should be in guarding their children and keeping them from indulging in this dangerous pastime.
