From: The Weekly Standard (at Raleigh, N.C.) Wednesday of April 13, 1859
 
The Directors of the Wilmington, Charlotte and Rutherford Railroad Company 
held a meeting here this afternoon. The business of the company appears to be 
pushed forward with much energy. Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting our 
friend MR. COLE of Anson County, who is down in attendance upon the business 
of the Company. The President, MR. GUION of Lincoln has been with us for some 
days. We hope to see other members of the directory before they leave -- 
Wilmington Journal
