Oct. 5, 1893 The Wadesboro Messenger says the barn of T. RATLIFF of Morvin township, Anson County, was burned on the evening of the 17th. It contained twelve bales of cotton in the seed, an enormous amount of rough feed, two wagons and farming utensils of various sorts, all of which were consumed. Mr. RATLIFF saved his stock by the hardest sort of work. The fire is thought to have been incendiary.
