Sept. 23, 1858 North Carolina Argus September 23, 1858 YELLOW FEVER IN ANSON COUNTY MR. J. WHITE (son of COL. WHITE) having returned to this county on a visit, was attacked with fever which his physicians were at first disposed to believe a relapse of congestive remittant fever which he had imperfectly recovered from before leaving Camden, Ark., but in the progress and termination of the case, they do not hesitate to say that they, or any other physicians, who met with the case in a locality where yellow fever was epidemic, the case would have unhesitatingly pronounced yellow fever. We think, but for the feeble condition of MR. WHITE'S health, he would have recovered. Persons in that vicinity and those kind friends who were present with us during his sickness, need have little apprehension as to the disease spreading, as it is rarely contagious except in localities where there is present an epidemic influence.
