   DIED,  near Meltonville, Anson County, on the 24th of July, of putrid sore 
throat, BETTIE BIVENS, in the 5th year of her age, daughter of JOHN BIVENS, 
and adopted daughter of H. A. and E. J. CRAWFORD.
