Chilson, the veteran postal clerk on the Salisbury & Knoxville postal run, died at his home near here about 10 o'clock today of typhoid pneumonia. He had been sick for perhaps two weeks. He was about 50 years of age and has been in the service for twenty four years. Of late he has frequently remarked to friends that after one more year he intended to resign as he was getting too old and not able to attend to his duty. It is said that he was elected to the constitutional convention shortly after the war over Mr. Bennett of Anson, though this is not ascertained by your correspondent.
