Little Dies by His Own Hand - Grip Affected His Mind News reached the city last evening of a distressing suicide which occured in Anson County. Mr. Walter S. Little, a prominent and wealthy citizen of Ansonville, shot himself through the heart on the back porch of his residence. At 6 o'clock yesterday morning Mr. Little said to his brother that he was going out on the back porch for a stick of wood. He threw a shawl around him, concealing his pistol under it and left the room. In a few minutes his brother was startled by the report of a pistol and on rushing out to ascertain the cause, found Mr. Little lying on the porch, face downward and gasping his last breath. He expired almost instantly. Deceased was a son of the late Wm. Little and was 45 years of age. He had been suffering with the grip for some time and it is supposed his mind was affected. He was one of the most prominent men in the county and greatly esteemed. He leaves an estate of about $30,000.
