  Mrs. Mary Jane Carter Martin,74, of Wadesboro, dies Dec.20 1996.
  A native of Anson Co., she was the daughter of the late James Matthew & Annie 
Jane Stranes Carter, and was born Dec.25,1921.
  Mrs. Martin was a retired employeemof Hornwood Inc.
  Funeral services were held Dec. 23 in the sanctuary of Wadesboro Church of 
Gad, conduced by the Rev. Robbin Taylor and the Rev. LeGrand Kelly. Interment 
followed in Eastview Cemetery. Leavitt Funeral Home was in charge of the 
arrangements.
