               OBITUARY
   COL. MARTIN J. PICKETT, second son of the late COL. JOSEPH PICKETT, of this 
County, is no more. He expired in this village on Tuesday morning, the 24th 
instant, in the 36 year of his age, surrounded by his family and several of 
his friends.
   COL. PICKETT was born and raised in ANSON COUNTY.
