This lovely country home, one of the landmarks of the county, which now shelters the fifth generation, was an appropriate setting for this charming event. The vows were spoken in the living room before an improvised altar banked with gladiola, shasta daisies, Queen Anne's lace and greenery. A row of candles extending the entire length of the old-fashioned mantle, was lighted by Edmund Woodburn prior to the impressive ring ceremony, which was performed by the bride's pastor, Rev. Charles E. Stevens. A program of nuptial music was rendered by Mrs. W.C. Webb, who was becomingly gowned in blue lace with corsage of rosebuds and swansonia. Ray Webb sang with fine effect "The Sweetest Story Ever Told." The bridal chorus from Lohengrin was used as the bridal party entered. "To A Wild Rose" by McDowell and "Liebestraum" by Liszt were played softly during the ceremony. Mrs. Joseph W. Huntley of Troy, the stately dame of honor, entered alone. She wore a model of pink organdie, with deep blue girdle and picture hat. She carried blue gladioli and pink roses tied with blue. Anne Webb, dainty little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Webb, wearing a fairy-like creation of net and lace over pink taffeta, bore the ring in a lily. The bride entered on the arm of her father and was met at the altar by the groom and his best man, Virgil Rayfield. She was a picture of loveliness in a beautiful blue embroidered net, fashioned on semi-princess lines, with long full skirt, puffed sleeves, high neck and trimmed with rows of tiny blue buttons. Her finger-tip veil of blue illusion was becomingly arranged off the face with a tiara of valley lilies. Her only ornament was a handsome necklace an heirloom in her mother's family. She carried an arm bouquet of sweetheart roses, showered with valley lilies and swansonia. The bride's mother wore a lovely dress of black and white marquisette. Her flowers were gardenias. The groom's mother wore a pretty chiffon of floral design. Immediately after receiving congratulations, an informal reception was enjoyed. Mesdames Clayton Brasington and Jabez Gulledge directed the guests to the punch bowl, which was presided over by Mrs. Percy Webb and Miss Thelma Rayfield, Mesdames Clarence Leonard and Edmund Woodburn received in the living room where gifts of china, silver and crystal were displayed. In the dining room, Mrs. Ray Webb and Mrs. Eva Webb Britt, assisted by Misses Catherine Gulledge, Carolyn Woodburn and Caroline Gulledge, served an ice course, dainty cakes and mints. The lace covered table was centered with a crystal bowl of exquisite flowers in pastel shade. Crystal candle sticks held delicately tinted candles. After the reception the bride donned a handsome costume of luggage tan with matching accessories. The couple will spend several days in Western North Carolina and Tennessee, after which they will be at home in Wadesboro in the Allen apartments on Morven Road. The bride is the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Webb. She can rightfully pride herself on her long line of splendid ancestry on both maternal and paternal sides. She received her education at W.C.U.N.C. Her charming, attractive manner has endeared her to a large number of friends. The bridegroom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Rayfield, of Gulledge township. His mother was the former Miss Mary Ross Myers. He is a capable, progressive young business man with a promising future. He holds a responsible position with James A. Leak & Co.
